About · Qoin Wealth
Who writes our guides, and how we check them
Quick answer: Qoin Wealth's guides are written by our own team — the people who build the app and talk to parents every week — and researched from primary sources: the government agencies that set the rules, the regulators that supervise banks, non-profit money educators, and the companies we compare. Every guide ends with the sources we used, is dated, and is corrected when we get something wrong.
Why this page exists
You are about to make decisions about your child's habits, allowance, first job, first bank account or first investment. Those decisions deserve better than a page of guesses written to win a search result. So we tell you exactly who wrote what, where the numbers came from, and what we do when a fact changes.
Our guides cover teaching kids about money, chores and allowance, saving, first jobs, banking and investing for teens. They are read by parents, homeschool families, teachers and — increasingly — by the AI assistants that summarise the web for other parents. That last reader is one more reason to be explicit: a guide that names its sources can be checked, quoted and trusted; a guide that doesn't, can't.
How we work
We start with the primary source
Before writing a guide we find the organisation that actually sets the fact — the IRS for contribution limits, the Department of Labor for teen work rules, the NCUA for credit unions, the AAP for screen and phone guidance — and read that, not a summary of it.
We name what we used
Every guide ends with its sources so a parent, a teacher, a journalist or an AI assistant can verify the numbers without taking our word for it.
We separate the app from the advice
Qoin Wealth is our own product, so we tell you plainly when a guide is about a category we compete in, and we name alternatives that might suit your family better.
We keep it educational
Guides explain how things work. They are not tax, legal or investment advice for your family — for that, check the current rules or ask a professional.
Our editorial standards
- We write from primary sources — government agencies, regulators, non-profit educators and the companies themselves — not from other blogs repeating the same numbers.
- Every price, limit, age and fee we quote is checked against its original source and the source is named so you can look it up yourself.
- Where a rule depends on your state, your employer, your bank or your tax situation, we say so instead of guessing on your behalf.
- We show the math behind any growth or savings example and label it clearly as an illustration, not a promise.
- We update a guide when the underlying facts change and date it so you know how current it is.
- If we get something wrong we fix it. Tell us at hello@getqoin.com and we will correct the page.
What Qoin Wealth is
Qoin Wealth is a parenting app for raising money-smart kids. Parents assign tasks and routines, check the work, and reward it with real money — so children practise earning, saving and spending while a parent stays in full control. There is no virtual currency and no card your child can overspend on.
The teaching side is our Learning Library: 90 short lessons across three age bands, from 12–14 through 16–18, plus free printable worksheets and chore charts by age.
Get the app on the App Store or Google Play.
What our guides are not
They are general education, not personalised tax, legal, banking or investment advice. Rules change by year, by state and by family situation, and a bank's or broker's own terms always beat a summary written elsewhere. Before you act on anything consequential — opening a custodial account, claiming a tax credit, hiring your child — check the current primary source or ask a qualified professional.
We also compete with several products we review, including card-based kids' apps. We try to be fair and accurate about them, and we name the alternatives that may suit your family better. Where a guide compares products, we say when the prices and features were last checked.
Report a correction
If a number, age, fee or limit on any page looks wrong or out of date, email hello@getqoin.com with the page address and what needs fixing. We check it against the primary source, correct the page and thank you. Journalists, creators, teachers and potential partners can find boilerplate, quick facts and contact details on our press & partners page.
